NEW YORK CITY, NY – JUNE 17, 2010 - Stanley® announced today the introduction of two new utility knives - models 10-705 and 10-707 - during its new product luncheon at t¬he Westin New York Hotel. Strategic Business Unit Leader Stephen Skeels said, “Many pros and consumers still want nothing more than a simple yet reliable utility knife. That’s not to say that they are willing to compromise on quality or comfort…it simply means they don’t necessarily require many of the upgrades that some users demand.”
The new Stanley® knives meet and exceed those expectations with an all-metal design that features a narrow nose for cutting accuracy. Its knuckle-saver design, combined with a convenient thumb rest, helps to avoid of scraped knuckles while maximizing user comfort. A convenient thumb wheel allows for fast and easy blade changes without requiring disassembly, which can sometimes lead to lost parts.
The model 10-705 is a fixed blade version of this utility knife while the model 10-707 is a retractable version. Both knives are currently available in mass retail, home centers, hardware stores, and online retailers. Each model sells for approximately $4.99.
